Naoko Shintani was born in Fukuoka (Japan), she has been living and working in Italy since 1989. From 1981 onwards she has concentrated on industrial design, working with firms in the home furnishing and ornament sector.
She also produces designs for the packaging sector, is the art director for several firms and oversees preparations of trade-fair and exhibition spaces for many showrooms and shops. She works with: Arflex, Nordica, Martini, FederalExpress, Covo, Editoriale Domus, FGB-Ghidini, Pomellato, MHWay, Diego della Valle, Villa, Taveggia, Arredaesse, Ermenegildo Zegna.
She has colaborated with San Lorenzo from 2003 to 2010 on various project, for the realize of rings, bracelets, flower boxes and table sets.
As a designer she loves the things so that she can shape them. Due to her attention not to the value, rather to the shape, she has found absorbing working with Ciro Cacchione, who has helped her in accomplishing what she desired most.
